Candidates

Candidate Filing Period: 9:00 a.m. August 1, 2025 – August 15, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.

CANDIDATE FILING REQUIREMENTS

• Step 1. Complete the Declaration of Candidacy form.
  
  
• Step 2. A copy of your Financial Disclosure Statement filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC) MUST be attached. (Assembly & Board of Education candidates ONLY.)
  • Financial Disclosure Statements are filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC) online through myAlaska. https://my.alaska.gov/

• Step 3. Complete the Candidate Information Sheet, attach your candidate statement of 200 words or less, as well as a photograph taken within the last five years.
  
  
• Step 4. File ALL completed forms by August 15, 2025 @ 4:30 p.m.

    * PLEASE NOTE: The original signed and notarized declaration form, and a copy of your financial disclosure statement filed with APOC, candidate information form, candidate statement and photograph must be delivered to the clerk by the close of the filing period – August 15, 2025 @ 4:30 p.m. If the original is not received by the clerk at the close of the filing period, the candidate’s name will not appear on the ballot. 
    
    
• Step 5. Within seven (7) days after filing a declaration of candidacy, ALL candidates must file with the Alaska Public Offices Commission online through myAlaska:
  • If you plan to spend more than $5,000 on your campaign, a Candidate Registration form must be filed
  • If you plan to spend less than $5,000 on your campaign, an Exemption Statement form must be filed
